A Hole Evening: Alaska Karst Unified Exploration Project 2024 Recap
From 6:00-8:00 PM, Thursday, August 15th, come join us for a recap of the Alaska Karst Unified Exploration Project 2024!
In July 2024, members of Dive Alaska, the Glacier Grotto, and two of their buddies, pulled off a cave exploration project that was almost six years in the making.
Six individuals set out to explore some of the most challenging, remote underwater caves anywhere in the world. And they did. It was more effort than anyone could have imagined, involved an immense amount of collaboration, trust, and support, and an almost unprecedented amount of community support and help.
The project went by a number of names, and was a resounding success. It set the groundwork for continued inner-earth exploration in Alaska, and on August 15th, we’re going to catch everyone up on what we’ve been up to.
AKUEP 2024 almost took one of Ron’s eyes, but admission is free, food is provided, and bringing your own drinks are welcome. Videos, photos, and stories that otherwise won’t be published will be shared, and there will be time for Q&A afterwards.
It’s not really the “hole” evening; just from 6:00-8:00 PM. If you don’t like bad cave puns, you may want to sit this one out.
