Dive Alaska is pleased to offer our 3-day dry suit certification and tour package. This package allows the diver to experience Alaska as the “locals” do. We’ll meet you at the dive shop to outfit you with whatever rental equipment you might need, and introduce you to your PADI Professional. After an orientation and classroom session, we’ll head to the pool for a confined water dive. This session takes from about 4-10 pm and requires some self-study prior to the session. During the confined water session we’ll introduce the operation of the dry suit inflation system, buoyancy control, proper venting techniques, and recovery methods. We use the best dry suits made for our classes to assure the success of our students. Upon the conclusion of this session, you’ll be ready to venture out to the open water!
You’ll meet us Saturday morning in Seward, Alaska. Seward is approximately 2 hours south of Anchorage, and we recommend allowing at least 2 1/2 hours for the scenic drive. We’ll board the dive boat at 9:30 am and set sail for the Eldorado Narrows in Resurrection Bay. Along the way we’ll keep a close watch for Whales, otters, Sea Lions, Eagles, Puffins, and more of the wildlife that makes this Bay famous. Our dive site will be chosen to accommodate our training with a bottom at 20 feet to allow the student to practice buoyancy control prior to venturing to one of our more advanced sites. We’ll conduct 2 instructional dives Saturday to introduce dry suit techniques to you before returning to Seward for the evening. Although accommodations are not included in this package, we would be happy to help you make those arrangements. Sunday morning we’ll head out again for some more advanced sites. Sunday will allow you to conduct your dives without the training objectives, but still allow the time necessary to practice your new-found skills. We’ll provide a Dive Master to guide your dives so that you can feel confident in your new diving environment. As a dry suit diver, you’ll have a whole new underwater realm to explore in comfort!
